Orange Halls damaged in attacks

Two Orange Halls have been damaged in arson attacks in Country Tyrone and Country Down.Two petrol bombs were thrown at the front of Newtownsaville Orange Hall at Beragh near Omagh .One of them ignited causing scorch damage to a window frame.It was the second attack of that nature in the area in recent days.

The remains of two petrol bombs were found at Gortaclare Orange Hall near Omagh.The hall sustained minor scorch damaged.In Moira , Country Down , an Orange Hall was damaged after a window shutter was pulled up , flammable liquid poured inside and set alight just before midnight.The exterior wall of the hall on Colane Road was damaged.A senior Orangeman blamed republicans for a paint bomb attack on an Orange hall in Belfast.Windows were also smashed during the incident at Crumlin Road Orange Hall.A local councillor stated " Quite clearly this incident at the Orange Hall was an attack by republican and nationalist youths, this is an ongoing problem.It was done to make the hall look in a terrible state for the July 12th parade".

Another hall belonging to the Protestant Orange Order has been damaged in an arson attack.It is understood a hole was cut in the roof of Brackey Orange Hall near Sixmilecross , Omagh , and flammable liquid poured in.The fire at the Country Tyrone hall caused smoke damaged to walls and floors.The incident is the third such attack on Orange halls in the Omagh area in a period of weeks.An Orange Hall in North Belfast has been gutted by a second overnight fire within a week.Ligoneil Orange Hall has been seriously damaged in an arson attack on the morning of the Twelfh celebrations
